I was recently interviewed for the Nature Careers podcast “Off Limits” that investigates taboos in the academic workforce.
It’s a great podcast series exploring subjects across gender, sexuality, disability, neurodiversity, religious faith, experiences of grief, involvement in political activism, etc. that present specific challenges in the context of working in academia.
My wonderful colleague from the University of Alberta, Dr Victoria Burns, and I were asked by journalist Adam Levy about our experiences as academics with alcohol addictions and as academics in recovery, and our aspirations for a workplace less hampered by stigma.
